Co-curricular Program
As a comprehensive College, we are committed to the holistic development of every learner. Engaging in Co-curricular activities empowers students to find balance in their schooling, while cultivating leadership, teamwork, and a deep sense of belonging.
We encourage all students to dive in, explore new interests, and uncover passions that will enrich their lives well beyond their school years.
Creative and Performing Arts
Creativity thrives at William Clarke College. Our Creative and Performing Arts program offers students countless opportunities to express themselves and grow in confidence. Whether it’s:
- Singing in choirs
- Playing in ensembles
- Dancing, acting or producing music
- Performing in musical and drama productions
- Writing songs or collaborating on productions
Students are supported to explore and showcase their talents in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
Sport
With a proud tradition of sporting excellence, our Sport Program provides opportunities for both competitive and recreational participation. Students from Year 3 onwards can join College teams and represent us in:
- Hill Zone Sports Association competitions
- Knockout tournaments and championship days
- Local interschool competitions
- Interstate and overseas Rugby and Netball tours
We also offer non-competitive options across all year levels, ensuring enjoyment and inclusion for all. A highlight of our sporting calendar is the beloved Staff vs Student Games, a tradition that celebrates community and fun.
Clubs and Activities
Our Clubs and Activities program is designed to extend individual interests and talents. Whether students are passionate about sport, music, science, games or creative arts, there’s something for everyone:
- From robotics and STEM to chess and dramatic improvisation
- From book clubs and art academies to running and cheer groups
- From Lego and skipping clubs to worship singing and physio play
These activities foster new friendships, build confidence and offer joyful moments of discovery. For some, it’s the thrill of competition or performance. For others, it’s the simple delight of creating, serving or playing.
At William Clarke College, Co-curricular life is an essential part of our mission to develop extraordinary learners who live with purpose. Every student is known, valued and encouraged to grow through meaningful experiences that shape their character and enrich their journey.
Co-curricular Award
To celebrate and encourage well-rounded growth, William Clarke College offers the Co-curricular Award—recognising students who actively engage across a broad spectrum of activities.
- Primary School: Students earn the award by participating in five of six eligible categories (excluding Outdoor Education) during their time in Primary
- Secondary School: Students qualify by engaging in six of seven categories throughout their Secondary years.
To be recognised, students must:
- Attend at least 80% of sessions for each registered activity
- (Secondary only) Submit a personal reflection detailing the skills and dispositions developed, reviewed by their Mentor.
Upon meeting these criteria, students receive a digital Connect badge for each category. Once the required number of badges is earned, their name is forwarded to the award committee for formal recognition.
This award celebrates students who embrace diverse opportunities, grow as all-rounders, and embody the College’s mission to live with purpose.
The value the College places on the Co-curricular program is reflected in the fact that one of the four badged awards given to students each year is presented to those who have participated in a wide range of pursuits. All Co-curricular activities are placed into one of seven categories. Students who engage in endeavours in a majority of these categories (five for Primary and six for Secondary) over their time in each sub-school are eligible to receive the Co-curricular Award.
