Ashley recalls fondest memories are from the musicals she was involved in – Oliver and Seussical. Ashley recalled that “it was such a great community of people involved and they had so much fun together.”
It was at William Clarke College where Ashley met her now husband, Michael (ah High School Romance) along with many friends that she still is close to 11 years later. Ashley was also a GLO leader and recognises the College’s key role in developing her faith in Jesus Christ.
After school Ashley studied a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with Social Inquiry at the University of Technology whilst working at Virgin Active, Norwest. Soon after completing her degree she started working at McCrindle.
McCrindle is a Market Research company that specialises in human behaviour and in studying market and social trends. They have assisted many organisations, schools, and not-for-profits develop strategies for the future based on what they have been able to understand about research from the present. Ashley is currently in the position of Director of Advisory.
Through her work, Ashley is able to be a positive voice to build culture and help people understand the changing times we live in. A large part of her role is communicating insights at conferences and in the media,taking what might be typically perceived as dry or boring statistics and communicating them in a way that inspires people for the future.
Generation Alpha was born out of the desire to help parents, teachers, leaders and anyone engaging with Generation Alpha (those born 2010 – 2024) to understand the world they are being shaped in, and therefore understand them better. So often generational stereotypes stop people from engaging with others who are different to them. This happens in our home, workplaces and other communities like churches. Ashley’s hope is that once people have read the book, they will have a greater understanding of the world Generation Alpha is growing up in. They will not only be informed, but also inspired and equipped with the tools to help this generation live and thrive in today’s challenging and constantly changing world.
